wEDDINGS

A wedding at Muswellbrook Anglican is a sacred and meaningful ceremony that marks the beginning of a couple's journey of love and life-time commitment. The elements of the marriage, before, during and after the wedding ceremony are designed to make the experience as special and memorable as possible.

Before the wedding, couples will meet with a skilled and compassionate priest or minister, who is also a registered Marriage Celebrant, to plan the perfect ceremony that reflects their unique love story. The couple will need to provide proof of eligibility to be married and will meet with the priest who will marry them on several occasions to prepare and plan for their marriage.

The wedding ceremony is carefully planned with the couple so that it will be a beautiful and uplifting experience, on their special day. The Anglican Marriage service includes readings from the scriptures, prayers, hymns (optional), a homily, and the exchange of vows and rings. The couple will make promises to each other in front of God and the congregation, and the priest or minister will pronounce them husband and wife. The ceremony will conclude with the couple being presented to the congregation as a married couple.

After the wedding, the couple will be congratulated and welcomed into the community as a married couple. They will receive a marriage certificate, which serves as legal proof of their marriage. The couple will also be warmly welcomed into the church congregation if they so wish to participate in the life-of-the-church in the future.
