our values and beliefs

Muswellbrook Anglican, in the Upper Hunter region of the Anglican Diocese of Newcastle, is a welcoming and inclusive community, following the example and teachings of Jesus, God’s revelation of God’s self in the world.

Our beliefs, worship practices, and pastoral care, are founded in the Anglican tradition, following Jesus’ commandment to love God and to love our neighbour (Matthew 22:37-39). We uphold the authority of the Scriptures, the doctrine of the Trinity, the divinity of Jesus Christ, and the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion (Eucharist).

We also place great emphasis on the role of the Holy Spirit in guiding and empowering the church, and on the importance of social justice and service to others.

Muswellbrook Anglican is committed to sharing the Gospel of Jesus to very intentionally bring people to faith in Jesus Christ, and raising up disciples, caring for those in need, and supporting social justice initiatives in the local and global communities.

Muswellbrook Anglican is also committed to ecumenism, promoting unity and cooperation among different Christian denominations.
