About the Hope25 Lenten Studies
The Hope25 Lenten Studies 2025 are designed to inspire deep reflection on the hope we find in Jesus as we journey through Lent toward the joyous celebration of His resurrection on Easter Day.
These studies will also serve as a lead-up to the Hope25 – Hope in an Uncertain World project, which aims to empower Australian Anglican parishes and communities to share the hope of Jesus intentionally during the Easter to Pentecost period in 2025.
The study book features 47 commentaries written by Australian bishops, along with thoughtful reflections based on the Bible readings for each day from Ash Wednesday through to Easter Day.
We look forward to sharing this transformative journey with you.

HOLY WEEK: Palm Sunday
In the Anglican tradition, Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week, commemorating Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem and foreshadowing his crucifixion with a procession of worshippers carrying palm branches.

HOLY WEEK: Maundy Thursday
Maundy Thursday is a day that commemorates Jesus Christ's Last Supper with his disciples and reminds us of the importance of humility, selflessness, and service to others.

HOLY WEEK: Good Friday
Good Friday is the most somber day of the Christian year. On this day, we remember the death of Jesus on the cross.

HOLY WEEK: Tenebrae with Stations of the Cross
Tenebrae is a somber service held during Holy Week, characterized by the gradual extinguishing of candles, symbolizing the darkness of Christ's death and burial.

HOLY WEEK: Easter Day
Easter Sunday commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, marking the joyful conclusion of Lent and the beginning of Eastertide. There will be an Easter Egg Hunt and Hot Cross Buns for morning tea.
